EAA Chapter 526 will participate in 2018 for the first time in EAA’s national program of Eagle Flights for adults. Volunteers will be on hand at our Young Eagles flight rallies to explain the Eagle Flights program and to sign up participants.
Eagle Flights are intended for adults who are genuinely interested in learning to fly, but have yet to begin the process. A Chapter pilot will be assigned as a mentor to each participant. At a mutually convenient date and time, the mentor pilot will take the Eagle for an introductory flight and provide information on the steps and costs involved in obtaining a pilot’s certificate. Information on local flight schools and instructors will be provided.
The mentor will remain in contact with the Eagle as a resource throughout the process if the Eagle decides to learn to fly. The mentor will also invite the Eagle to attend a Chapter meeting as a guest.
All expenses of Eagle Flights are borne by the mentor pilots. There is no cost whatsoever to the participants. More information on the Eagle Flights program is available by clicking here.
