Scholarship Awards - April 9, 2022

The Auburn Aviation Association (AAA) formally awarded eight flight training scholarships on Saturday, April 9.  Sponsors included AAA, EAA Chapter 526, the Ellsworth Hovey Getchell Foundation, the Ray Foundation, and Mach 5 Aviation. WW2 triple ace and Auburn resident Col. C. E. “Bud” Anderson congratulated each winner and presented autographed copies of his autobiography.

Some of the awards were for new students who will pursue private pilot certificates. Others awards were for already-licensed pilots who will train for an instrument rating or a commercial pilot certificate.  Awards ranged from $2500 to $10,000 each.  All of the training will be accomplished at Auburn Municipal Airport.

The scholarship winners are Gavin Alder, Andrew Chubatenko, Sydney Greene, Kadie Jacobs, Rogelio Leon, Mia McKnight, Christopher Morales, and Tenley Ong.
