Scholarships

As they say "it takes a village" to make this happen but what a great opportunity for youth in the Auburn area.
EAA Chapter 526 in partnership with the Auburn Aviation Association (AAA), with sponsorship from the Ellsworth Hovey Getchell Foundation and Mach5 Aviation, collectively provide a number of aviation related Scholarships and Grants.

EAA Air Academy

In 2023 Chapter 526 was excited to sponsor two local Auburn area Young Eagles to attend one of the EAA Air Academy summer camps and Elina Bergstrom was awarded a Chapter flight training scholarship and EAA Ray Scholarship.
Mason McNeilly, and Joshua Fox, attended the EAA Academy located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Mason attended the EAA "Basic Camp" the week of June 25th and Joshua attended the EAA "Advanced Camp" during the week of July 28th. See some photos and hear what Mason thought of the trip by following this link... Mason Report

Meet our 2023 Awardees

EAA Air Academy: The EAA Air Academy is a series of weeklong camps designed to introduce young people ages 12-18 to the world of aviation.
Students are engaged through a variety of hands-on activities while staying at the EAA Air Academy Lodge in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Experienced aviation instructors help them delve into flight through studies, hands-on demonstrations, flight simulation, and other exciting activities.

Flight Training

Flight training scholarships and grants are awarded to achieve a Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating or Commercial Pilot. Funds are paid directly to the Flight Schools involved.
The 2023 flight scholarship interview team evaluated applications using the online application program, Good Grants. The applicants were rated, scored, and debated by the team. Applicants were selected to be interviewed and our 2023 awardees are listed below.
