As they say "it takes a village" to make this happen but what a great opportunity for youth in the Auburn area.
EAA Chapter 526 in partnership with the Auburn Aviation Association (AAA), with sponsorship from the Ellsworth Hovey Getchell Foundation, Mach5 Aviation, and the Richard Conte Foundation collectively provide a number of aviation related Scholarships and Grants.

EAA Air Academy

2024 Awardees: EAA Chapter 526 is very excited to sponsor two local Auburn area Young Eagles, Paxx Weidert and Sharon Suleman to attend the EAA Basic Air Academy summer camp located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Each will receive full tuition, room and board, and up to $900 in air fare reimbursement to attend the one week Air Academy.
Claire Delany, a 2022 Basic Camp Awardee has continued to pursue her passion for aviation and was awarded a 2024 Chapter 526 flight training scholarship towards her becoming a private pilot.

EAA Air Academy: The EAA Air Academy Basic Camp is a weeklong camp designed to introduce young people ages 14-15 to the world of aviation.
Students are engaged through a variety of hands-on activities while staying at the EAA Air Academy Lodge in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Experienced aviation instructors help them delve into flight through studies, hands-on demonstrations, flight simulation, and other exciting activities.

Flight Training

2024 Flight Training: Applicants who must be age 16 to 25 years old as of February 29, 2024, will receive monies or credit towards pilot training at KAUN, maximum values from $3,675 (estimated) to $12,500.
The flight scholarships must be used at Mach 5 Aviation, Sierra Air Helicopters, Sky Trails Aviation, or Sunshine Flyers for Private Pilot, Instrument, or Commercial flight training.


In 2024 the flight scholarship interview team evaluated applications using the online application program, Good Grants. The applicants were rated, scored, and debated by the team. Applicants were then selected to be interviewed and we are very excited to announce our 2024 awardees that are listed below. We are extremely proud of everything they have accomplished.
