As they say "it takes a village" to make this happen but what a great opportunity for youth in the Auburn area.
EAA Chapter 526 in partnership with the Auburn Aviation Association (AAA), with sponsorship from the Ellsworth Hovey Getchell Foundation, Mach5 Aviation, and the Richard Conte Foundation collectively provide a number of aviation related Scholarships and Grants.

EAA Air Academy 2025

The EAA Chapter 526 has awarded two 2025 scholarships to attend "Explore Aviation Camp" and "Discovery Flight Camp" this summer at EAA Headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Both camps are one week in duration and the students are housed at the EAA Air Academy Lodge pictured below.

Explore Aviation: The EAA Air Academy "Explore Aviation" Camp" provides an exhilarating STEM summer experience for young aviation enthusiasts aged 14 to 18. Nestled in the heart of sport aviation, the camp offers an unforgettable experience for campers eager to delve into the world of aviation.
State-of-the-art flight simulators, interactive workshops, classroom discussions on the principles of flight, aerodynamics, flight planning and weather permitting, go flying in a helicopter or airplane.
Discover Flight: The EAA Air Academy "Discover Flight" Camp" offers a unique and exhilarating summer experience for young aviation enthusiasts aged 14 to 18. Nestled in the heart of sport aviation, the camp offers an unforgettable experience for campers eager to delve into the world of aviation.
The camp provides students comprehensive ground-school style lessons. Led by experienced and passionate aviators, these lessons cover a wide range of topics, including aerodynamics, aircraft systems, navigation, meteorology, and aviation regulations. Through hands-on activities, simulations, and interactive workshops, campers gain a deep understanding of the principles and practices that govern flight.
Weather permitting, students have the opportunity to take to the skies, with thrilling airplane and helicopter flights.
